Short and Simple ways on How to make money with your blog

What I really love about blogging is that there are almost endless ways to make money from it.

Here are just a few of them :

  • media advertising;
  • affiliate marketing;
  • sponsored content;
  • sale of own services;
  • sale of goods (from physical goods such as t-shirts and mugs to digital goods such as courses and e-books);
  • creation of a site with paid access ;
  • selling websites for money…

My favorite ways to make money blogging are sponsored content, display ads, and affiliate marketing. I find that these methods complement each other very well, are the most passive and require almost no maintenance once implemented.

Once you create a blog post that converts well, all you have to do is update it, review it from time to time, and keep getting paid for it.

They are also easier to learn when you are just starting out.

Other forms of income from blogging, such as creating a course, may require you to work much harder (like supporting all of your students), but can of course be much more lucrative.

Making money from advertising

Posting ads on a blog is one of the easiest ways to make money: once you’ve posted an ad, there’s nothing else you need to do.

Big companies pay you to place ads on your pages, and you get paid every time someone sees an ad or clicks on it. The more people visit your blog, the more money you can earn.

How much can you earn from advertising?

It depends on your niche and the company you use to advertise. Income can vary greatly, including depending on the time of year .

Companies are much more likely to spend big money, for example, closer to Black Friday and the New Year. And they spend much less in January, when people run out of money.

But let’s assume that, on average, you can earn $10 to $20 (or more) per day for every 1,000 visitors. This is what advertising agencies call RPM (revenue per 1,000 impressions; revenue per thousand impressions).

This means :

  • $10-$20 per day, based on 1,000 daily page views;
  • $300-$600 per month, based on 30,000 page views;
  • $450-$900 per month, based on 45,000 page views;
  • $1,000-$2,000 per month based on 100,000 page views.

As you can see from the numbers above, if you want to make money from ads, you need to generate a significant amount of traffic in order to make a good income. But this is not impossible.

Here is a list of some of the ad networks you can use to display ads on your blog:

  1. Google adsense . This is the easiest ad network to apply for. It does not have a minimum number of page views or sessions that you need to have in order to register. You just need to launch your blog with a few posts to get approved.
  2. Yandex Advertising Network . Domestic analogue of Google AdSense. Here the entry threshold for beginners is slightly higher. Although this is not directly indicated in the rules, in order to add a site to the YAN, at least 300-500 people a day must visit it. A freshly created blog is barred from entering this advertising network.
  3. Digital Caramel . A traffic monetization platform that allows you to get the most out of ad networks. It is a certified partner of YAN. Connected to the leading advertising networks of the CIS and the world (Yandex, Google, Criteo, Between, MyTarget ). Buys almost all traffic.
  4. If you plan to enter Western markets and drive your blog traffic above 50,000 views per month, you can try foreign ad networks: Monumetric , SHE Media , Mediavine , AdThrive .

Earning from affiliate marketing

I love affiliate marketing. I make several thousand dollars a month on it. This is one of my favorite ways to monetize because it’s one of the most passive ways to make money from your blog!

You can create a post or review and still generate passive income years later with very little work required to maintain a blog.

Affiliate marketing allows you to earn money (receive commissions) for recommending products and services to your readers. You only get paid when your recommendation turns into a subscription or a sale.

Here’s how affiliate marketing works : You get a special tracking link from the company you’re affiliated with. Then place that link in relevant posts on your blog or email it to your blog subscribers. When someone clicks on that link and makes a purchase or signs up, you either get a set fee or a percentage of the sale.

Other ways to make money blogging

Starting a blog is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Blogging takes time. And patience. And a little more time.

But some of you may need money now.

One way to develop your blog and still make money is to use all the skills you have (and acquire) to freelance . And using your blog to showcase your knowledge is a great way to land your first client.

You can manage other bloggers’ social media accounts, create their Pins, or become a virtual assistant and work for them by completing various tasks . You can write blog posts for others, or offer your services, such as design, marketing, or photography .

Make sure your key pages (About the Author, Contacts) are set up correctly and include a few examples of the work you do.

Here is just a small list of services you can sell to make money from your blog from day one:

  • copywriting ;
  • editing;
  • design;
  • photo;
  • video creation ;
  • marketing;
  • managing social media accounts;
  • SEO.

Almost anything can be monetized, so be creative with what you have to offer! A surefire way to find opportunities is to reach out to local businesses and join blogging groups on VKontakte and Facebook.

Sponsored Content

Sponsored content is images, videos, or articles that you write for companies and post on your website or social media for a fee. Brands pay you because they want to be seen by your audience.

This means that you must have an audience. But as more and more bloggers offer sponsored content, having a huge audience isn’t necessarily the best way to make money.

Some brands are looking for so-called micro-influencers : bloggers and Instagrammers who have a small but very loyal audience interested in a particular topic.

For example, if I’m a gluten-free flour brand, do you think I’d rather pay a blogger who only posts gluten-free recipes and has 10,000 page views, or a regular food blogger with 100,000? As a brand, I will have a much better chance of reaching out to the right people by working with a gluten-free blogger.

If you have value to offer and the right audience for the product, you can go out and write to your favorite brands even with a small audience.

Sponsored content creation is far less passive than affiliate marketing and display advertising. You get paid once per post, and that’s it. But there are bloggers who make thousands of dollars just by reaching out to brands and creating well-chosen content for them , without having to spend time on SEO and traffic generation.

Selling your own products

Selling your own products can be a very lucrative way to make money blogging.

But what exactly can you sell?

You can sell anything digitally: manuals, e-books, online courses, or even physical goods like t-shirts, mugs, or posters.

Digital products are an incredible source of passive income because you put in the effort to create them once and they are automatically delivered to buyers without your involvement (provided you have the right tools).

Most people worry about selling what they have made. Who will buy it? Will I be able to create good enough things? Will people really pay me money?

But remember the following:

Start small. Solve someone’s problem. Get a feel for what it’s like to sell products, and when you’re ready, move on to a more expensive product.

Action plan
